Looks a great idea but I can see issues with the big players in this country.

The AA will not attend a broken down on a major road in parts of London without the police or highways agency shutting off the road and that is with a big truck for protection, I don't think they will like the idea of the limited protection offered by this concept.

Still think it looks fantastic, I would love to try it out.

If you mean why they will not attend without the police / Highways agency, then it is the dreaded Health and Safety. You have to sympathise a little though, a good number of their repair men are killed or seriously injured at the roadside every year.

Wasn't aware of that, I had always figured as long as they did it on the hard shoulder they were happy. Fair enough though.

I can't imagine how the bike brakes can cope with 1.5 to 2 tonnes on the back unless the speed is very restricted when towing.

I have seen videos of these in use in Japan.

Would be useful in the Blackwall Tunnel as a broken down car in there causes chaos, as I am sure it does in any tunnel.

These are already in use in the UK, the A63 in Hull is covered by one to remove vehicles that breakdown during busy times so not blocking one lane
