A fairly amusing idea - spoilt by the way it has been done. The base would be better if it wasn't a slice of scaffold board, and the lamps should be recessed LEDs. Mind you this is coming from someone who has a "monkey holding a bulb" as one of his lights. :giggle:

I just googled and found you can buy the hands from £10 up!
That's handy to know. I often need a hand.

I'd be concerned about the wiring, I assume it's powered by the handset lead, they're often only 26awg or so. Good for 361mA or 4W at 12V. You can exceed that for short runs but if those are halogens I'd expect the cable to get quite warm.

looks like there is another cable inside the spiral one so will assume that is the power lead rather than the spiral cord
