If you watch from 2:35 in the video, you'll see the chap using a spring to tension one side of a belt sander. Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

What would probably work better is the spring out something like a Marzocchi mtb fork, from yesteryear.

Depending on how strong the spring you need try www.airgunspares.com They do replacement titan springs or original springs. The Diana model 25 air rifle has a fairly weak one.
