wheels ??

Hi all

Does anybody have any idea's where I can get some wheels for an EB HC 260M planer thicknesser ....... I live in a terrace with no workshop so it's stored in the dining room and carted outside for use .... and I don't fancy putting my back out so any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Ian,
Both Axminster and Screwfix sell wheels that can be mounted onto a homemade frame. I've used wheels from both of them and I can vouch for them and their ability to take the strain. The screwfix ones helped move a piano through the streets of York, the Axminster ones are holding up a frame of hefty sash clamps.

Just another thought.... The clamp trolley I mentioned (the one with the axminster wheels), for some reason I decided it would be a good idea to use two castoring wheels and two fixed wheels. This has turned out to be a very bad idea. If you are tight for space, moving something around with this arrangement can be quite difficult. So, I'd say go for a castoring wheel in each corner.

I needed some wheels for a stand, and looked at Axminster, Rutlands but in the end opted for those from screwfix. Can't remember, but probably price. The wheels are excellent quality.

Hi Ian

Look on ebay first, you can get some bargains. I needed 100mm nylon castors for my tablesaw and got them at quarter the price they were asking for elsewhere. Same with the 75mm castors I needed for the bandsaw and p/t.

I recently bought the 75 mm locking castors from Axminster to put on my home made router table. They perform well and are very strongly made at about a quarter of the price of the same thing from screwfix.
