This item was found among a job lot from an auction. Anyone know what it is? It's about 200mm long, with a loose sleeve over the small diameter, there are marks at the top of the hexagonal part that have been made with a hammer.

It resembles a copper pipe swager.

Exactly that. For domestic copper pipe. I have one and have used it but the joint fit is never very ‘exact’.
