how many of you have a pocket knife that you carry daily
i have a knife in my pocket every day and have had one with me all my adult life as a true country man i was brought up with a knife .
today there are some great knifes out there i now have a collection of about 45 a future gift for my new grandson

Yep, i take my victorinox hunter everywhere with me. I've had it nearly 20 years now and always feel like i've lost an arm if i leave it at home.

I also have a gerber serrated folder, plus a COLD STEEL master hunter - carbon V ( when cold steel used to make the knives themselves in the usa) about the same age as the victoronix. Plus i have a Falkniven F1 that i bought as a blank and made a birds eye maple handle for it. Then there is also my Ray mears style bush craft knife, also purchased as a blank and handled with curly maple, plus matching fire steel. :)

It's not quite the same but I have a victorinox credit card knife thingy.
It's always in my wallet and gets used a lot.
A fantastic little gadget.

I carry a Spyderco Delica 4 with me. It's beautifully made and keeps it's edge very well.

Apologies for linking to that site; your wallet will probably take a hit one you start browsing!

Opinel Carbone, No.7 pen knife.
2nd one I've had, lost the first years ago, gave up hope of getting another, then low & behold, local ironmonger, got a supply!

I carry a pocket knife, known around here as a "Lambs foot", bone handle, 4" blade, good for every day jobs, in the country, garden and around the house. Regards Rodders

I have a small victorinox keychain knife I carry everyday on my keys, it was a freebie from one of my old suppliers. It's only a few inches long but very handy and I'd miss it if I didn't have it.

Disregard my last post, I thought you meant in general.
I have a Victorinox Officer. Bought for me by my grandfather when he was in Switzerland.

I've had a penknife in my pocket almost every day since I was in double figures [not my weight]. I prefer a 'liner lock' [leaf spring within the frame] but since I discovered that in the UK carrying a lock knife is a convictable 'offence' [at least two precedents] I regrettably carry a standard non-locking folder, with it's greater risk of personal injury to the user.

I carry an original Swiss Army penknife which I've had for 40yrs.
I also had a tiny Al Mar knife attached to my key ring until I was hauled up by the Police at that Houses of Parliament - it's a lock knife and all lock knives, even very tiny ones, are illegal in the UK.

Only to carry, not to own.

Actually the wording of the law is ambiguous [it seems to me] but judges have interpreted it as a carrying ban on a couple of occasions. IIRC

As I understand the law, it's permissible to carry a locking knife (like my Spyderco) if it's for a genuine purpose, i.e. while hiking or for work.

My wife just lost her tiny Swiss Army Knife, owned for 20+ years, thanks to security at Las Vegas airport. One careless moment, in countless dozens of international flights, normally it gets transferred to hold baggage before the trip to the airport - but a stressful morning running around sorting things out, too much on her mind, and it's so small it's easy to forget about. No value to it, other than that which gets transferred via 20 years of faithful service. The TSA agent was really friendly, and quite apologetic about it, but there's no arguing with them. The fact that I could do more harm with my litre bottle of whisky doesn't come into the equation.

Currently in my pocket I've got a rather nice for its price, 3 bladed (non-locking), wood handled Farmer's knife from Puma of Germany (although this is one of their bronze badged models made in China, hence the price - less than a tenner. I've got a beautiful olive wood handled Laguignole knife and corkscrew which does sterling service for French holidays, taking the cork out of my lunch with a lovely flourish, it also cuts cheese, meats and fruit beautifully. I've got more SAKs than is strictly healthy including a lovely black Director's knife that was a gift from my father, a couple of Japanese Higo knives, one with the bent brass handle and one with a nice wooden grip. I've got a fantastic Spyderco locking knife, the blade smeared in vaseline, that is my old diving rescue knife and cuts through rope better than any other knife I've ever used - I bought it before they released their 'salt' blades. Then I've got my Flexcut carving jack, which rather like the legendary Gurkha Kukri never seems to get sheathed until it's drawn blood...

I've always got a folding pocket knife of some sort about my person, and if out in the garden or camping often have a fixed blade too, very useful things they are too :)

My acquisition disorder syndrome isn't just limited to woodworking tools unfortunately  and I also have a fair few pocket knives to choose from, including some lovely custom made jobs from Russell White and elsewhere http://russellwhiteknives.co.uk/previous-work/ and of course all sorts of SAKs and others too.

A bit over the top for slicing up your lunchtime apple or opening envelopes, but what can I say, they make me happy

Cheers, Paul
