Where do you start.... It was made using a planer/thicknesser, a router (with a template trim cutter), a bandsaw and a block plane. Handtools... marking gauge, tri square, a sliding bevel... and a ruler of course.
The top is fixed together using loose tongues. The top and the bottom 'X's just need a cross halving joint. the curves are made with a template and router. To make them into an 'X' shape is a cross halving joint made using the template you used to make them. The joint in the middle is the swine... make eight shooting boards and your block plane will show it's hidden charm.
When it's done, a few mortice and tennons, 4 sliding joints (to attach the top)
and 'bish-bosh' there's your table...

Comments are welcome

your images are getting caught in the spam trap - it goes away after 3 posts (also you need to ensure there are no spaces between the file url and your square brackets)

Hi Hans..

Just noticed your signature. I can work out what you are saying of course, but do you understand Latin, and do you have a link for a translation dictionary please? I looked for one on-line, but I can never find anything useful. Making up Latin phrases is a little pastime of mine!

Nil Desperundum. Semper fidelis to effortosium !

I agree. That's a nice table though and that 'peak joint would be a struggle.
Looks like a three-way case-joint, on a curve. I reckon even a 'Woodrat' wouldn't manage that one!
