Hi all

Just looking for any thoughts on what I can do with these Oak boards:

I have two boards which are 7' long by 14" wide by 1" thick.

The first has been surfaced (as seen in the pic), and I was going to rip them down into more stable sizes. But it seems such a shame.

So before they hit the Triton, any suggestions for alternative uses in their current size (to show off their natural beauty) would be welcome.

Cheers

A desk top for the study had crossed my mind, but I am worried about movement in the boards. I know the sensible thing to do is rip them down and re-join.

leave the boards in the house for a few months, plane flat and they should be ok I would have thought, there are plenty of old large boardroom desks/tables made from very large boards.

I'd rip them down into 20mm strips and use them for lipping veneered MDF.

Full of a stinking cold (man flu) and kids giving me grief all day - that made me laugh!
