Ive got a cobbled together rotavator.......
I took a chance and bought a non worker from abay. When I got it back, and started to play with it, i found it pulled over too easily, no compression, The exhaust valve was stuck open. I began stripping and realised i was not the first to have been here..........screws missing, screws loose, springs hanging off....someone had already had this to bits . The carb clearly is missing vital external parts, and apart from the stuck side valve (now freed up with some WD40) , theres almost no spark to speak of, very weak. There no points, its just a magneto.
So I temporarily replaced the 5.5 HP Briggs and Stratton engine engine with a 2.5 HP Suffolk Colt engine, but its struggles in heavy soils.
IS it worth trying to find a new magneto, a petrol tank, AND a new carb? Or shall i junk it and look for another engine? What would you do ?
