Hi all,

Going to do water feature using large 70cm plastic planter (B&Q) terracotta colour. Wife wants really bright colour for it, like pink or yellow. What type of paint to use please ? Don't really like aerosols. Tin would be fine.

Being plastic you will need either a plastic primer normally sold in aerosols lol
Or a plasticiser additive which you can normally buy from the likes of jawel paints etc.
However im not sure if it is then suitable for brushing/ rollers or just for spraying. Jawel and othee similar automotive supply shops have outlets on ebay if there isnt one close to you. :)

Zinser primer, followed by undercoat then topcoat. I painted a blue plastic tub this way and it seems good so far ;)

My decorator, who paints our house every four years or so, paints our previously faded brown plastic gutters with traditional oil bsased Dulux gloss. He tells me the last thing you want is to undercoat it as undercoat hardens while gloss remains flexible. It must be at least ten years since it was first painted and none has ever peeled off.
