What are these called?

Hello all

I have an old Pixiphone that my mum and uncle played with as kids, then my siblings, cousins and I played with it too. Now I want to restore it so my nephew can have his turn.

Does anyone know what the metal caps in the attached photos are called and if it's still possible to buy them? I've tried to find them online by searching for description but with no luck.

Or does anyone have an idea for a child friendly, aesthetically pleasing alternative?
