The smell of the defunct chocolate factory in Clarendon Road, Wood Green, N22, when I used to go and visit my dad's aunt Lily in Mayes Road.

The smell of the pet food factory that used to be near the Blackwall tunnel somewhere!

If I'm remembering correctly, we added Castrol R to our 2 stroke fuel to make them smell like racers. We smelled of Brut aftershave.

I was chatting with the wife about what would be the definitive smells of the 70s.
I came up with Kensitas Club, Izal, whatever it was they used to clean hospital floors back then, turps, glossed radiators (I still feel ill thinking about that), balsa wood & Airfix kits.

The wife mentioned warm school milk & carbolic soap.
