I was chatting with the wife about what would be the definitive smells of the 70s.
I came up with Kensitas Club, Izal, whatever it was they used to clean hospital floors back then, turps, glossed radiators (I still feel ill thinking about that), balsa wood & Airfix kits.

The wife mentioned warm school milk & carbolic soap.

What would be your definitive smells of the 70s?

Nothing changed there, it's now Vape smoke, just makes your realise that you always have been walking through other peoples exhaln't.

Back then, my nan used to visit every week and always sat in the kitchen chatting to my mum. She smoked, and the combined smell of **** and milk coffee is etched in my memory :)

Oh, and speedway. It was popular back then and the smell from the fuel is really distinctive.

The exhaust from my 2T Vespa 125. I think I bought it for about £30 in 1968 and got the same for it when I sold it in 1970. If only....
