This is an offshoot of the phone thread. My first daughter is 11, born around the same time that flip phones became difficult to find, but in the US, not at the time that data was unlimited with many plans.
The mrs. and I were looking through old videos as we've been lax at making sure that all of our older digital content is in an identifiable place. The one thing noticeable when viewing the videos is that some of them were from a camcorder (yes, before the fantastic light compensating that's now on phones was common) and long, but there were videos of Christmas and other events where literally, a group of a dozen people were sitting in a room all looking in the direction of each other the entire time and nobody looked like they were going to panic.
I can't imagine this now. Not all of the footage was seat of your pants thrilling, either, but everyone had the patience to just sit there and pay attention on the in-betweens.
It was like something from a bygone era - I guess it's bygone now, only about a decade later.
