I'm starting a wardrobe build but was thinking 15mm MDF but thought does it need to be that solid or would 12mm be sufficient? It will be screwed onto a cls frame so won't wobble, or that's the theory.
If you are making a carcass-type wardrobe I wouldn't recommend using anything less than 18mm thick!
If you are thinking about making a framed-type of thing 12mm maybe alright if it is not load-bearing. I made a set of fitted wardrobes with a timber framed front and all the insides were sectioned off sort of thing.... LOL I would make it now using a carcass-type construction after spending nearly a year with a furniture company last year.
If you are making a framed-type wardrobe you may want to look at my WIP of the fitted wardrobes I made:
(In which I must add I still used 18mm MDF)
Cheers Simon, it's always handy to see someone else's work in progress and you have stopped me from making a c*^k up of a couple of stages.
Nice wip set.
