I would have thought that most of the nuts, bolts, screw and washers on the lathe would originally have been bought in anyway. We’ll never know, and who could tell?
Previous owners lost origanal nuts/bolt fixings
 
Wouldn’t be the end of the world to use an ordinary nut, have a box spanner with Tommy bar kept next to it.
Now what the thread is? Anybody’s guess.

On e bay there is a man who lists ML8 lathe parts . He breaks these to sell the parts . Search john_bradfast Please note the ‘underscore ‘symbol !
