well had an enjoyable day off work making wall clocks and doing router profile for the first time.

made two of these only disappointment was the hand crafted embellishments i ordered for the 12, 3, 6 and 9 position didn't arrive even though i paid for over night delivery hopefully they will come tomorrow.

routering hand held was interesting after a few false starts was pleased with the results, my triton router a bit to big and heavy for hand held will be much better when i get my small vintage bosch router back from my mate and even better when i get a table.

the wood is yellow pine and love the smell !

Looking good Mark , I would imagine that a lighter Router would be easier to handle and a routing table should give more control and make it easier . You still managed to do a great job without them . Thanks for showing .

the only thing you have to watch mark is that the lighter router has enough power to cut the wood and not burn it, clocks looking good. Does the jig for cutting the back serve on any clock whatever the size, or is it size specific.

hi boysie hi steve , thanks for comments,

yeah the template will do for any size clock as movement is same size for all clocks just diff sizes hands and colours

i had a little bit of burning on end grain but a light sand got rid of think it down to my lack of experience it was only very slight but mainly on the heavy resin parts of end grain

steve i think the router will be ok it a bosch 500 sometning or other my mates been profiling on hardwood with it and i not removing a lot of stock with my profile on pine ill give it a whirl.

Mark , my Bosch is the 500 series too ,and as you say if you are not taking too much off is a very capable router .

The choice of Bits has a lot to do with it IMO. Take care.
