I got this delivered this morning You don't realise how big they are until ones in front of you. It was quite entertaining trying to get it in the garden, the rope was tied to the back of landrover and then lowered with a block and tackle. This was described as being well maintained and being used up until recently. I don't think so. I'm getting abit of a wadkin traffic jam.

If I could have absolutely any machine, it wouldn't be an Altendorf panel saw or a vibrating head morticer or a four head planer...it would be a great big bandsaw with a great big table and a stellite tipped blade. Lovely!

Hi wallace, unusual garden feature you got their, going to keep you busy with the Brasso !!! at least the evenings are pulling out should give you a few more hours

I think this is going to be my biggest challenge yet. It was described in the catalogue as being well maintained and just recently out of service. Me thinks they lied. This has not been used for a very long time, and every inch is very crusty.

Wow, is all I can say. I must admit Mark you like your challenges :shock: :shock: :shock: But I am sure it will be a work or art once you have it finished (as usual with your WIP's). I would be nice to have one of them machines, at least you know it wont fail like most modern machines. Never know I might be interested =P~ =P~ =P~

Its 90" high and 60" wide :shock: I have not checked to see if it will fit in my workshop yet.

I don't really do anything that warrants having half the machinery I have but I really like this old gear.

I had a very similar one, it was a Wadkin DNA158 model. 30" dia wheels 3hp motor. Apparently Wadkin stopped making that model in 1926.
It cost me £100 with a wadkin morticer & Dankaert circular saw. It was a great bandsaw but had no brake on it so it would run on for 3 minutes once the stop button was pushed, probably illegal now!
