More than one way to get into your PMs. To quickly go directly to messaging someone click on their avatar image (or the circle with no image in it if they have no avatar selected) and a window opens up, then click on the letter image at bottom-right.

The PM page that opens will automatically have that user selected as the recipient, the title of the thread/post will be filled in already as the subject and the window where you type will quote whichever post you started from.

The rest of your PM options including the Inbox and Outbox are on the left so you can navigate more fully from there if needed.

You can also get to your PMs through the User Control Panel which you'll find under your name at the right side of the blue bar across the top of every page. The link for this is the same for every member ucp.php so you can bookmark it from that if you like. Once you're in PMs are the fourth option across the menu at the top, and you'll start with a default blank Compose message window.
