Dan - that looks lovely. And as for the doors - wot the other guys said! Do please show.
Any chance you could make the piccies a little bigger please?
I'll try and get the pictures bigger later on. When I first posted them they were massive and so reduced them on my Photobucket account...too much!
I can't work out how to enlarge them again on Photobucket. So I'll have to upload them again from my daughter's computer where they are stored (long story) but she's at her mother's for New Year and I won't see her till tomorrow.
Yes, the doors are double hinged so that they fold right back out of the way.
Construction - it's basically an MDF box biscuited together with the inside painted matt black and the sides veneered. The top and the doors are MDF lipped in Brazilian mahogany and then veneered in a mahogany veneer and a dyed tulipwood stringing.
The plinth and door fillets took the last of my stash of Brazilian mahogany.
I never put a back on TV, HiFi, or computer furniture. This ensures good ventilation and easy access for cabling etc.
Speaking of which, what is the definition of scar tissue?
A. A problem connecting a DVD player!
