The point is, that if you're trying to recreate VT&G boarding then having the "flat" will actually give it a more genuine appearance regardless. The thought of cutting grooves with a circular saw / table saw Vs using a router and bit are day and night to me. It would take an eternity to skills it and the results would be sub par without a doubt. In fact, just talking about this makes me feel like I've tried it once and sworn never again. Perhaps I've blocked it out....
