Just got one, should be quieter than the router...Cleaned up nicely, but plating gone on both long fence rods, now a bit more than clearance fit. Anyone tried reaming out for 10mm silver steel?

Blades in some 050's (with screw in rods) were held only by edge clamping between the mainstock and either sliding section or clamping bracket. Mine has the additional screw normal to the blade. But tightening this raises the blade to the chatter position!! (bevel just off its support). What was Record's idea of this screw? Or is it just for the smaller cutters that have no (adjuster) notch (to let the adjuster to prevent slippage), and thus might need extra clamping? The manual (it is the right one) does not even label the screw, let alone mention it.

What do folk do if they drop the nicker and screw in the shavings? (apart from swear, that is)

I've got a magnetic pick-up tool that I use for just such emergencies.

I have one of the small eclipse horse shoe magnets, it lives on a metal clad box, waiting for such tasks.
