Can anyone tell me where the URL list (the list that appears if you click the Down Arrow at the right-hand end of the URL box in Firefox 3) is stored? I have an entry for ALife4Sale which was an aussie bloke selling his house, car, job and friends on eBay. I followed the story and now I can't get rid of it. Using the Clear History function doesn't clear the URL list. Shift-Delete only clears ones which are not Favourited (Ouch, sorry). A search of the Registry reveals nothing. Where on earth is this list kept?

Any boffins reading?

Cheers
Steve

I just tried it and when I used the DownThemAll option it cleared everything except the bookmarks I have on the line below the URL box. Do you have that URL bookmarked?

It was bookmarkded, yes, but now, because of some time limit, the page no longer exists, so when I go to it I just get an error message from eBay. As the actual page no longer exists, I can't seem to un-bookmark it. It is not listed in my bookmarks, but the URL has a yellow star beside it in the drop-down list.

That is helpful, yes, but, IIUIC, it only hides the URL, it doesn't remove it completely.

I'd just like to know where this stuff lurks. On the whole I am very happy with my browser, but I don't like having things over which I have no control.

It must exist somewhere, this isn't magic.

Steve,

IIWY I would export bookmarks and delete my profile. Start a new one and download such extensions as I need, then import bookmarks.

I sometimes do this just to get FF to speed up. Using it for along time, it just gets slower and slower to load.

Thank you, gentlemen. That is what I suspected. But this stuff must be stored SOMEWHERE!

Perhaps I should discover it and be a World Leader in something very minor!
:)

Cheers

Great Roger, thank you. I've got rid of it, but I still don't know whether it is still there but just not displayed or actually deleted. It doesn't matter, it's not pestering me by always being at the top no matter what I'm looking for, so I'm happy enough.

Thanks a lot
S
