'Course, it's true that some folks like the comfort of such-and-such a device being called a "dovetail jig" or "mortiser" so they know what to use it for, and that's fine. But others like to be a bit more flexible, and that's fine too. And if you're doing a hundred of a certain task, then the dedicated jig or machine makes sense - even to the unpaid woodworker. But the 'Rat is closer to using a hand tool, IMO, and should be viewed in a similar light (sometimes, not always). Possibly only of interest to the artist/designer/maker paid woodworkers, and the unpaid with imagination and/or a long Tuit List of one-offs...
