Unusual pliers I bought this weekend from honest frank, paid way over the top but i liked them £6.00, I cannot find any info on them. One side there is a 6” ruler PAT no 577553 made in England and NIKNOX the other side 13mm ruler and UTILEX reg trade mark no541535

They kind of look like an older version of the tool we use at work for fitting weights to wheels after the tyres have been replaced.

I was thinking along those lines, however I think it's more of a "multi-tool" thingy, looks like a good idea in theory, but "ruler-hammer-pliar-nail-remover", possibly not so good in practice. Also a bit like the tools steel erectors use for wiring, but not really.

I would have said it was a Fencers tool. Steel fixers have a similar tool, but I cannot quite picture it. Best wishes.
 
Aren't they shoe maker's pliers? Although they usual ones I've seen don't have the claw.

The pliers bit is for pulling the leather around the wooden last and they you bang the small nails in with the hammer bit. Youtube has videos of this.
