My son’s 1979 house has two wooden fence posts attached to his brick wall using a fixing I have never come across before. Can anyone give advice on what to use to undo these fixings as we want to move these posts to a new position, these posts support a gate and feather board fence.
Please see attached photos. My last resort would be to saw through the posts then use mole grips to remove the fixings and fit replacement posts. Any advice appreciated.

An alternative to sawing through the posts would be to slip a hacksaw blade between post and wall and sever the fixing.

You could also trepan around the fixing so the post would come off around it.

Both of the above give you the opportunity to re-use the post (and fill the hole where the old fixing went).

Option 3 is to demolish the house wall...
