Hello Brothers,
I came across this unique slitting gauge on the "Timeless Tools and Treasures" website (sold).
This fellow was really thinking "outside the box"! Has anyone seen one like this?
My thanks to Jane Butler for her permission to post these images from her website!

No haven’t seen one like that before, it’s taken me a min or two to work out what’s going on, I think she turned it end to end as well as round which confused me.
But isn’t it limiting to only be able to slit/cut thin strips? I think it must have had a very specific use, or else why not use a cutting gauge? — that’s the same as a marking gauge but has a blade instead of a pin, for those who haven’t come across one.
I don’t do veneers but I’ve had one on my tool rack for 30+ years and I think I’ve only used it once lol.

Curious that one appears fixed and the other moveable. Guess someone had a need for a lot of a certain width of stringing
