I understand the need to monetise the forum, but I can no longer click on any link here as skim resources has been implemented.

This basically intercepts any link clicked on here and adds vendor tags. Skimresources also places tracking cookies in your browser.

In certain environments you can opt out via http://optout.skimlinks.com/?tested=1 (*)

However, I operate in an environment that is hardened so basically all links on this forum are now unobtainable to me.

I wouldn't object except that this is a double hit - I'm a paid up UKW Supporter which I did as there is value to me in this forum and I do block ads (that's a forum option available when you become a paid up supporter), so the supporter route should offset that, but silently adding this is a bit naughty IMHO. I'm also not certain that UKW's cookie and privacy policies cover this use case.

(*) Interestingly, I can't even click on that link to opt out via this forum as the opt-out link is obviously intercepted too and blocked for me. DOH!

That simple link above now expands to;
https :// go.skimresources.com/?id=82483X1753353&isjs=1&jv=15.7.1&sref=https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/threads/skimresources-com.149832/&url=http://optout.skimlinks.com/?tested=1&xs=1&xtz=0&xuuid=7245783ffcd92691f2f790f44e4ee68a&xjsf=other_click__contextmenu [-1]

The expansion is performed by /proxy.php which is invoked from the source URL via the "data-proxy-href" attribute in the <a> element.

Edit: Pi-hole and other ad blockers also prevent (by default) any skimresources links being invoked.

Interesting. I see my NoScript has "caught" it and - and I see also that adthrive.com and btloader.com are being caught

I shall look at those later - thanks for the heads up.
