Turning Brass

I have a idea to insert Brass into one off my turning projects. This would involve sandwiching a piece of brass (about 1/4" thick) between some wood, would it be possible to turn it on a wood lathe or my metal turning lathe. If I could do it all on one machine all the better :?

Yes you can turn the Brass on the wood lathe with HSS tools, the main problem you will have is the brass to wood transition if the wood is a soft species.
Very easy to turn/sand the wood away from the Brass edges due to the differing hardness.

Thanks for that I was thinking of cutting the bulk away first, to make things a lot easier
