I'm making a set of skittles and bowls for a mate. This is the first bowl/ball i have had a bash at. I just turned it between centres and chiseled off the excess. I have to make a few more so any tips?

I'm going to knock up a template for the next one, instead of eye-balling it :roll:

That's a proper male woodworker, isn't it - plane, wood, pint, tv remote and a can of lynx! Brilliant! :lol:

:lol: NOTE TO SELF - Start leaving my tools in the garage/workshop instead of my bedroom.

Hi Sean,

I had to turn some balls recently. I found it best to turn between centres and make an accurate MDF/Ply template just to try it against when you are getting somewhere near size.

The biggest problem is they tend to be either a bit square or a bit pointy... the perfect shape is somewhere in-between but is surprisingly hard to come by!!! :lol:

By the time you've finished the set you'll be very good at turning balls!! :wink:
