I have to resaw some 6 x 4 into 6 x 1 planks on my Kity bandsaw. My existing blade struggled resawing 3.5 x 2 so I thought it time to splash the cash and get a blade suited to the job. Having seen Tuff sawblades regularly recommended on here I thought I'd give them a try, I left a question/comment on their site, no reply so I emailed them no reply. OK so it has only been approx 48 hours but not a weekend, and not a holiday period. Are they still actually in existance, do I really need to phone them, ( I have a hearing problem so that is not always the easiest of options).
I suspect a 2 tpi m42 1/2" blade is what I need but it would be nice to hear from them before I order.

Tuffsaw is a one man operation, not a huge factory with people waiting on the phone or at the computer and his site does say that he may not get back immediatly. However, he will get back as he always does, but may be taking time to fill orders. He cannot be in two places at the same time. They are the best and worth waiting for, so pleae be a little patient as it will be well worth it in the end.

If you can get to speak with him, you will have a great deal of knowledge on the other end of the phone and he will know just what you need. He is an expert at this.

Didn't realise it was a small concern Malcolm only started using them a few weeks ago. Service was great even phoned me about a blade I had wrongly ordered.
Blades are excellent compared other reputable makes worth waiting for.

If you phone you will get him or his wife. If you get his wife, she will get him or he will ring you back soon. Delivery takes a few days in my experience.

I bought a couple of blades last week. Excellent service and great product as always. Order was placed online and blades received as expected two days later. It may take a day or two for your call to be returned, but it will be returned and he's a great chap to deal with, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Bob's posted, so I can't relay my experiences in here either. ;-)

I used Tuffsaws for the first time a few weeks ago and wanted to ask what blades to get I also did not get a prompt reply so eventually phoned turned out as Malcolm said its a one man operation and he had been taking a well earned break. I phoned Ian he is a very nice man with a wealth of experiance and with his advice ordered 3 different blades one for resawing wet green wood one for resawing seasoned wood and a small 3/16" for making bandsaw boxes which I have not used yet but the other two are the best.

Don't worry Naz I know several people who feel the same way as you but sometimes it's pointless swimming against the tide.
I've not bought anything from Axminster for 3 years as I believe good service begins with selling quality products that don't need a first class replacemenot/ reimbursement service because you can't be bothered with quality control at source.

The M42 blades need a lot of tension. I ordered one about six months ago and my small Startrite struggled to tension it properly. Ian being the gent he is replaced it for me, no questions.
