Finally got one of my tuffsaw blades into the bandsaw today.
Only a 3/16" wide (the rest to follow, different story).

Had a large chunk of wood waiting to be turned into a bandsaw box.
I mean LARGE. 20cm x 17cm x 17cm, of laminated ply and hardwoods. Barely went under the blade guide

Beautiful cut, at least twice as smooth as the previous blades. Slicing off the front and back of the drawers with the 3/16" isnt really the done thing, but they came off almost smooth enough to be glued straight back together again and without any wander against the fence.

If you dont have tuffsaws blades, then your bandsaw isnt working properly.

No, he hasnt seen fit to give me a discount for unsolicited testimonials, but after 18 months of bandsaw blues, I'm so pleased I just dont care.

Welcome to the Post Tuff Saws World. Next you will be ordering some spares so that you never go back to BTS.

I like the blades but I have an awful habit of snapping the thinner ones when doing shaped work. Ian from Tuff Saws can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong #-o

My first bandsaw was so bad that even the tuffsaw blades couldnt redeem it (I did buy some, early last year, they didnt help).
So when I bought the new axminster saw I got them to throw in a few extra blades because of the shipping costs and time to me here.

The new saw performed so much better than the old one that I was happy for a while. But then as you all know, once youve mastered a machine you start to ask more and more of it and suddenly it wasnt doing the job as well as I thought it should. Hence the latest purchase.

A good machine and excellent blades..... a perfect combination.

You are one of us now. And Ian owns your soul

Not quite. I have a bargaining chip, but now is not the time to play it.

I recently switched to Tuff Saws (from Axi) as well. To be honest I had no problem with the Axi blades on my 16" Jet trade bandsaw once I figured out that setting the saw up really well is critical. I now pay great attention to bottom and top blade guides, and careful tension setting, which is a table off job when changing blades (20 minutes start to finish, if drinking tea whilst working). I usually vacuum out the saw at the same time.

Ian provided me with three new blades last week and I find his advice invaluable. I had a bash at bandsaw boxes for the first time using a very thin (6mm I think) blade that he recommended, and it is absolutely excellent. Very good service from this company. The blades are superior to the Axi blades in terms of finish and ease of cut.

What made a lot of difference to me was the video that I discovered here )on the forum about how to set your bandsaw up. In particular placement of the blade on the rollers, which is different to manufacture recommendation but works better. Alex Snodgrass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGbZqWac0jU
