Tree in a tree!

I found myself in Rolleston on Dove today, and went to have my lunch by the water. I spotted this on my way...
The little blighters get everywhere!

I know a farm in Somerset that has a large old ash tree growing by the entrance gate. At some point in the distant past it had been pollarded causing several new growths to develope around the periphery. These were about 9" diameter when I last saw them some 10 years ago. The middle of the ash trunk had rotted but played host to a sycamore seed which had grown into a sizable tree.

Being exceptionally skeptical of anything on the internet that seems out of the ordinary I had to do some googling on this. I can happily report this one seems to be true with plenty of other evidence, seems to be in spain and searching "Pino-Roble de Canicosa de la Sierra Burgos" brings lots of other images and a great video.

Wow. Trees are amazing
Mine is similar to your one, Yojevol - a sycamore growing in an ash. Less impressive version though! How high was it pollarded?

Just had a look at it on Streetview. It's probably about 10ft. I imagine it was causing problems at the farm entrance.
