Sorry for enquiring about a tool that isn'y really related to woodworking. Does anyone know where I can get a traditional style Eclipse hacksaw in the UK?

I've looked around on the UK online sites and on ebay uk and haven't been able to find it.

Thanks

I've seen lots like that in second-hand tool shops, so that might be worth trying if you don't need a new one

two questions
does it need a wooden handle,
and does it have to be eclipse????

pretty sure i have at least one laying around which i might be
persuaded to offer to the cause at a small fee

will check if you are prepared to take "second best"

Hi mate,

no, it doesn't have to have a wooden or be eclipse. I just like the 'coping saw' style of these hacksaws. Any chance you could put up a pic of the saw you mention please?
Also, how much were you thinking?
Thanks for the offer btw :D

ok will see what i can find, and also have a coping saw and
an old fashioned manual fret saw, you know the deep framed one.

Yeah - they litter car boot sales. No one wants them. 50p or a quid each.

sorry scooby have checked my stock and the two i can easily find do not have wooden handles. rather they are what i would call pistol grip one
in metal, and a portugese one i bought cheap with a different shape.
still looking though have to check another tool box tomorrow.

what i do h ave with wooden handles are a couple of fret saws, about
12 inch deep, and a couple of coping saws, ideal for cutting the back edge of skirting boards

will look more fully in the next day or so, and revert again
