Pete, that is the main tool carrier. The bit that is most difficult to make.

You would of course need a base and horizontal pivot rod to mount it on.

If you remember Pauls Sorby jig, that is the tool holder half.
 
When I started using a Creusen dry/wet grinder I fixed a 12 mm bar to a piece of wood that was clamped to top of the grinder. The distance of the bar to the wet grindstone could be set by sliding the wood forwards/backwards. With this rather primitive setup I used the SV-185 of the first posting.

It worked all right. After some time I replaced the wooden fixture by the XB-100
and a US-105 which turned out to be just a minor improvement.
