Tormek help

Does anyone own a tormek sharpening machine? If so could someone kindly post what the diameter of the metal used in the universal support is? I am making a jig based on the tormek system and I plan to use tormek jigs,so I need to know what thickness of metal to use.Thanks alot,

Just been up to the workshop-disaster,I only have 6mm bar
Looks like ill have to purchase some 12mm bar.
Also,12 mm is thicker than I thought it would be-mind you if what people say about the tormeks build quality is true,I shouldnt really be surprised

Not sure what type of jig you are building but are you aware you can buy the Tormek universal base that the Tormek Universal support bar fits into separately?

Thanks martin,that certainly saves alot of time.Does anyone know where I can get the universal support from cheap?They do it on axminster but it is £28!
