Just saying thanks to steve for the very quick delivery of the mega bundle (workshop essentials 1,2,3,4 and 5 ), given that i only placed the order last friday i was pleasantly suprised to find that they'd arrived when i got home today.

despite swimbo's comment " you sad bast*rd" i'm eargerly awaiting my turn with the dvd player

assuming they are as good as reviews etc lead me to believe i will be placing another order for a second copy of 4 and 5 for my workshop volunteers to pass around

If steve is looking for ideas for workshop essentials six and seven , I would love to see him cover complete guides to the planer thicknesser and the router table

I'll second that one.
15 minutes from starting setting up a google checkout account to an email saying it had been shipped.
I've so far ripped 3 to the server so I can view them in the workshop - I don't have a dvd player in there.

I'll add to that.

1, 2 & 3 ordered shortly after Christmas and they arrived within a few days.

Also ordered a few bits and pieces for jig making (his Bristol levers are cheaper than I could find elsewhere) and they too were with me in a couple of days.

AND the dvd's are bloody good too!!

I'll 5th it.

Everytime I've ordered from Steve the dispatch mail has arrived within the hour.

4&5 arrived the very next day - top notch for Christmas post :D

Well done on a superb series Steve!

Given that I had previously posted a question about setting up bandsaws and tablesaws, I feel I must also comment. On the strength of advice given, I placed an order for the full set of videos at the weekend. The DVD arrived tuesday morning.
Fabulous service, Mr Maskery!

Cheers,
Adam

All I have to do is watch them when (post-christmas-spending you see) SWIPARMBO (she-who-is-pregnant-and-really-must-be-obeyed) aint around :)

Here Here!!

Ordered 4 & 5 last week, very easy to follow for a beginner like me and lightning fast delivery

you certainly get my vote as the UK Woodwhisperer!!

Well done indeed

Regards

Andy

I just need to prise the dvd player out of swimbos grasp - shes watched damn nearly the whole "criminal minds" box set already today and has now started on "bones."

I know i could watch them on my computer but its not very good at playing film dvds and tends to stutter.

Crikey, I go away for a few days and the world's gone mad!
I'm away learning about beer (easy to make, impossible to sell profitably, I've concluded) and been off-line for a few days but thank you to all for your kind and encouraging words. This certainly has been the best launch of my DVDs so far, by a country mile.

I'll be back processing orders tomorrow, so those who are waiting, thank you for being patient.

So, what have I missed?

S

Maybe combine the two with an instructional DVD on the traditional art of coopering a barrel???

Cheers,
Adam
Or even better, how to safely operate your finely tuned bandsaw whilst spanked off your nipples on homebrew :D

closely followed by plastic surgery essentials 1, 2, and 3 no doubt :D

"Bandsaws and Barrels...."

Now THAT's a Discovery Shed programme just WAITING to be made....

All you need Steve...an old run down cottage in the ENGLISH countryside...a battered landrover, a HUGE moustache....an old hat with lots of flies in it....

Sorted!!!

:D :D :D

Well whilst I wouldn't claim that they are comprehensive, there are a couple of free vids about the PT here:
Snipe
Installing knives
Knife honing jig

The beginning is the same on the first two, but the contents differ after a minute or two.

Cheers

Just watched essentials one and i'm impressed - we'll definitely be making the improved tenon jig at work - just the thing for speeding up cutting gate component tenons (which we currently cut with the morticer and bandsaw

also impressed with the gauge for setting the railsaw - but thought of a potential "improvement" while watching -we're going to make two so we can set both ends of the rail at the same time (Or possibly one with a long head and two rails) - any thoughts on where you get that self adhesive measuring tape from ?

!

I sell them here. I currently have both R->L and L->R in stock. For that application it's just personal preference which you choose.

Don't forget, though, that if they are not EXACTLY the same then you will get an error. You could make one with the tape and one blank - just set the second up against the first, top to tail.

If you are going to use it (and I do think it is one of the best ideas I've developed) I suggest you make two or three of different lengths. You need a long one when dealing with large sheets, but it's a bit cumbersome for using with smaller sheets. I have one which will do about 5' and another 30" or so.

Cheers
Steve
