Looking to buy some things from the above company. Tho having never used them before I don't know if I trust them or the quality of their goods.

What I mean is like Rutland do they sell the same stuff but of lower qualitys to others (like the QS gear)

Cheers.

Toolnut are good to deal with. Quick delivery and superb aftersales. I'd recommend them over Rutlands or Axi any day of the week.

I don't think you need to worry about quality, they sell the likes of Clifton, Veritas, Henry Taylor, Robert Sorby, Ashley Isles and Crown.

I've bought from Toolnut, no problems, decent company, come to that, I've not had problems with Rutlands either.

I don't believe the Rutlands lower quality QS thing. I think its a complete myth. I own 4 QS planes from Rutlands and all are good quality, and value.

I hate this Rutland bashing by snobs on here, they have some great deals of good products and delivery has always been good.

Thanks for the peace of mind.
I think I'll go with classic hand tools tho as they have what I'm after and I've used them before.

Thanks

it isnt by snobs, it is often by people that have experienced their dire customer service department. They have a large number of high prices, discounted down to a (sometimes) reasonable rate as part of a perpetual sale, and many of the dakota products are rubbish. I know this from first hand experience on some items- not that negative reviews are ever published on their website. Some products, however are good and are at a good price.

I dont have any QS planes, so I cannot say whether they are any different from one retailer or another.

If Rutland's have the items that you require in-stock then you will have a good experience with them. The problem occurs when they don't have any stock and it requires intervention from their customer service department. Their customer service department is very poor.

I have written to their MD pointing out the problems that members have experienced and haven't even had the decency of a reply.

My personal bugbear (sorry BB) is that all of their product reviews are glowing. I bet you can't find a review that isn't five stars.

Thanks,
Neil

Just like Screwfix, they only publish what they want you to read

Now now, that's not fair at all. Once I saw a four-star review!
