Hello folks, I have joined ukworkshop because my sister and I are trying to rehome the many items from our dads workshops and looking for the right people. There are many things that we can’t identify so perhaps I can ask members for help? I haven’t used a site like this before so am trying to work out the right forum to use for various questions. Perhaps you can advise regarding the forums.
Our aim is to rehome our dads things by selling at reasonable prices to folks who will appreciate and understand them. At this point we don’t think going to a dealer is right for us. We are learning a lot about manufacturers as we research the items. Parkinson, Oliver, Drummond, Woden, Robert Sorby, William Marples, Myford, Rabone Chesterman. Finding the right outlet is one of our tasks. We have started using gumtree but some of the things are very specialist. Some things are also hand made as our grandfather was a welder. He and our dad built our family home which we have the sad task of emptying.
We can’t offer much in terms of teaching or advising other members but hopefully this will be a fruitful venture for us and other members.
