Today's Wood ID challenge

Looking for help with identifying this wood.

I thought maybe cherry (?) but it's a guess.

Same colour and look as the cherry bowl blanks I have, that shaving looks very much identical to the shavings I get.

In a previous life it was table legs. And likely a tree the life before that!

I would go for cherry or alder. Alder is quite like cherry to look at, but usually softer and weighs less.

Lots of folks using pallet wood these days which is almost always unidentified. As a set of previously table legs, and prior to that a tree it is obviously some kind of wood

It's often difficult to identify wood just from a photograph but my guess would be Parana Pine.
