Just finished this "Arts & Crafts" styled side table today along with a wall mirror to mount above it.

Should have got the handles today but they didnt arrive.

European oak with a medium oak stain before finishing with pre-cat and lacquer.

The Photo isnt the best but it gives you an idea of what I've been up to!

It looks like a medium oak stain with pre-cat lacquer over the top to me, at a guess

Now how did you get that right from the photograph lol

Anyway spot on - Mailee - Should've gone to specsavers!

Classic design. The raised rear is reminiscent of Victorian washstands that seem to have morphed in to hall tables these days. Nice grain to the drawers. So far as finish is concerned, personally I'm allergic to staining nice wood, but I guess it depends on what it needs to match and the context in which it is going to be put.

You should be proud of it.

I fully agree - I absolutely hate staining any timber preferring to leave it in its natural form.

But when a client specifically instructs what finish they require and they are the ones paying the bill, they get what they want.

Well the table has been delivered and now stands proudly against the Mission Clock I had previously made for the same customer - I had also made the front door as well as doing the panelling up the side of their stairs - Unfortunately I don't think there is any more room in their hallway for anything else!
