Hey...Chas...the bolt arrived this morning...incredible speed!

Sorry had to hack it up mate but it was an absolutely perfect length...

I silver soldered it to the cap in a recess and it is rock solid...

Now the plane looks exactly the way it should do...perfect!

And finally this wonderful lot of books from the Odhams Press "Practical" series, 1930s vintage:
