These "bar hinges"?

Hi again,
I'm wondering if a pair like the ½hinge in the pic exists?
If my glorious artwork is intelligible, there are supposed to be 2 of them, so that a rod or bar goes through for a hinge effect.

Ok, from the side:

The bits on either side are aluminium plates about 1cm thick (and 30cm square) that I want to swivel in a manner similar to those toy snakes you used to see, up to 45° either way.
I put some effort into fabricating them before thinking that perhaps they, or something that would give the same effect, exist already, which as I will want a couple of dozen would save me a lot of work!

Excellent! Good idea! The middle of the rod/bar wants to be about 20-something mm from the plate to get a 45° pivot, and they'd need to be strong, but it still sounds a good possibility. I'm looking!
