I stumbled across this quirky tale while waiting at the doctors. Allegedly speeds of up to 50mph were reached. Talk about hair raising. Sadly the video clip referred to on the web page has been removed.

According to the article I read, the hooter would go off at 4pm and five minutes later they were down the bottom and catching the bus :shock: :shock: Each man had his own and carried it up with him in the morning.

I play golf with a friend whose wife as a child would walk up the first incline with her pals and ride down on the laps of the men. She's 82 and still has fond memories of it. Couldn't do it now though -Health and Safety- and sitting on a mans lap is a complete no no :shock: :shock: :shock:
