Dibs,

Thanks for the kind offer. Have you decided which day you plan to attend?

If you could let me know which road /place/area to look for accomodation. I will do some research.

I like the idea of a few beers and a curry, perhaps Dan will join us, or other members for that matter?

Cheers, Esc.

Esc - either Sat or Sunday - I'm flexible. In the past, I've usually done Sunday, allows for a bit more haggling, especially as some of the exhibitors don't really want to take some of the stuff home. :)

As you are driving up the A1, to be honest you might as well book into a hotel on the edge of Leeds\Bradford\M606 or thereabouts. You'd be about 10 mins (round trip) out of my way to the show and you'd get a room for around £50.

Try the following,

Cedar Court Hotel
Mayo Avenue, Off Rooley Lane, Bradford, BD5 8HZ
Tel: 01274 406606

Novotel
6, Roydsdale Way, Euroway Industrial Estate, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD4 6SA
Tel: 0845 456 6399

Travelodge Hotels Ltd
**** Lane, Thornbury, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD3 8QD
Tel: 0870 0850950

Hilton Bradford
Hall Ings, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 5SH

Or a bit more Yorkshire Dales,

Craiglands Hotel
Cow Pasture Rd, Ilkley, West Yorkshire LS29 8RQ
Tel: 01943 430001

Airport - the one SlimJim mentioned,

Airport Hotels 4 Less's
Leeds Bradford International Airport, White House Lane, Yeadon, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS19 7TU

Leeds - if you want something more lively,

Ibis Hotel Leeds Centre's

Premier Travel Inn
City Gate, Wellington St, Leeds City Centre, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS3 1LH

Just Googled Sherigham - some journey. Let me know what suits you - Sat or Sunday (I'm making the assumption that you will be attending only 1 day). I'd suspect drive up on Sat, stay the night, do the show on Sun and then go back on Sun eve - beats getting shafted in traffic on Fri. Let me know what you decide.

I've been for the last 2 years, and to be honest if you get there around 10'ish - you are done easily by around 3pm. 1 day is more than enough.

Dibs,

Thanks for the list of hotels. I quite like the look of the Craiglands @ Ilkley.

The rooms seem half price for Friday night when compared with Saturday and at £54 thats not bad at all, with a breakfast, quite acceptable. I will check this out tommorrow.

On this basis I suggest I drive down on Friday, I 've got a little detour to make but will plan to arrive at tea time.

It would be great to meet up for a curry and some beers on Friday night and take in the show on Saturday. I can drive home Sat, late afternoon.

This leaves my Sunday free to play with my new purchases from the show  or for the usual game of golf. :)

Hope this is acceptable and wonder if any other members would like to join us for some fun and laughs

Cheers, Esc. (Tony)

Craiglands @ Ilkley - I kind of thought you might go for that one :)

Your plan - I'm cool with that. Book your room and we'll do Fri night (curry and stuff) and then Sat at the show.

I'm sure the hotel will let you leave the car there on Sat, whilst we are at the show - if not a good friend of mine lives 5 mins from the hotel - he'll be more than happy for you to leave it at his house, and then get it on the way back. But you'll more or less drive past me to get to Ilkley - so depending on what time you get here, we'll sort something out.

I'll PM you phone nbr and stuff.

That way you don't have to count the pints on Fri night. :D

I'll echo Esc invitation to any other members in the locality - feel free to join us on Fri eve\night. :)

True Dan, quite true. I will be venturing north in a matter of weeks.

I'm looking forward to the trip already. Hope you can find time to join me and Dibs for a few beers and nosh on Friday.

Hope to hear from any other members who fancy joining the party.

Cheers, Esc.

I understand the Eurekazone EZ system will be shown at Harrogate by a company being set up by Peter West. It does not appear on the list of exhibitors, but is announced on the Eurekazone website.
Should be interesting!

Everything seems to have gone quiet on this.

The was talk of an 'eyeball' on the Friday night. (Sorry, showing my age, there!)

Dan

Dan, I am driving up on the Friday with Woody Alan. We are staying at the Craiglands Hotel. Hope you are still up for a beer with Dibs. Good pub nearby called Bar T'at. Have yet to make final arrangements with Dibs.

Looking forward to trip. Cheers, Esc. (Tony)

I'll be manning the Leeds College of Art and Design stand on and off for most of the three days if anyone feels like dropping in and introducing themselves. Slainte.

Esc,

I know the Bar T'at well.

Let us know what time you'll be there and I'll emerge from the shadows and make myself known. I'll recognise you from your old avatar photo!

Mine's a pint of Black Sheep.

Dan

Ilkley's got bugger all for curries, but never mind. I'd suggest we nip back into Bradford for a curry - it's only 20 mins on an evening. There's quite a few nice curry houses that are licensed.

Besides Esc, - you being a smoker and all, thought it would be time to introduce you to the joys of smoking sheesha. :)

Don't know yet if I'm going Saturday or Sunday - if I do go on Saturday, should I just look for the tell-tale "beer and curry gas cloud" rather than trying to remember faces from the Rogues Gallery ?

ROFL!

Just follow your nose!

Dibs, I hear tell (from various reviews on the net) that the beer and food at this Bar T'at is very very good. Beer particularly.

Have you been to this place? Is it worth staying there for grub? I sense if we go for the later I may need to book something. Maybe you could have a look and let me know?

I don't mind having a curry but like the sound of the real ale at the pub, and fancy after a few pints it will be hard to leave for a kingfisher!

The last time I smoked a hubbly bubbly machine was in Dubai. The smoke was very weak compared to my usual navy flake, but I became very light headed, next I was in this harem and there were all these ......................................perhaps I will tell you when we meet. :)

Cheers, Tony

The food is good, but to be honest it's probably going to be as good as any really good pub local to you.

Whereas a good curry is going to be slim on the ground near you. Do it backwards - could always have a curry first, then back to Bar T'at for a few real ales. It's not very far from Craiglands, about a mile or so up the road. Could always have a bite to eat on Sat afternoon at Bar T'at, before you head home on that long journey! Whatever you fancy to be honest.

Hubbly bubbly - it's nowt like the ones in Dubai, they're more for the tourists. These are the real deal. Harem.... now that's a different story.. :) Can't promise you a harem, unless you're wearing beer googles!

I'd probably suggest that you stay at Craiglands, with Bar T'at being so close, - close enough for the ales, but then back to peace and quiet at the hotel.
