The date on Morrells lacquer

Apologies as this is a basic question. I've just noticed the date on a recently purchased 5l tin of. Pre cat clear lacquer from Morrells.

Is this the shelf expiry ? Wondering as July 2019 is printed.

It'll be the date of manufacture. It's not food, it doesn't really need an expiration date.

I've found pre cat has a quite short shelf. acid cat seems to last a long time though(till mixed)
I guess the catalyst reacts after time meaning it doesnt flow.
