I really REALLY don't want to invite further comment in this, which is why I've chosen to put this here rather than on a certain other thread, but I just wanted to say thank you to those who have expressed support, publicly and privately. I'm sure Nick will appreciate it too. We can't be all things to all men, but we do try to be the best we can at the things we do. And we really do value constructive criticism, too.

Thank you all very much, wrist-slitting postponed.
Steve

Steve, regardless of who is right or wrong, you stuck by your guns, and that's to be admired, I think you will find 99.99999% on this forum were in agreement with you, however everyone is entitled to their view as you quite rightly say, keep up the good work I'm sure all will agree your input on this forum is much appreciated.
regards,
Rich.
ps. btw what's happened to the crossword?.

So far I've judged you by your comments about mothers, woodworking and a few vids on YouTube. So top dollar really 8)

No problem Steve. As long as you and Nick keep up the good work.

Same sentiments as Pete, just keep on doing what you're doing Steve - Rob

Steve its blokes like you that make this site brilliant for the likes of me i am just starting out and i know if i ask for help on this website it is only because of the good nature of the members that i get the answers. If i am struggling with a problem there is always someone who has the answers. You have been at this woodworking a lot longer than me and you have the skills to workout the answer to a problem (i wouldnt know where to start ) i have enjoyed you videos and i enjoy your writing in the magazine. Dont let one ***** stop you from your work there is too many people enjoy what you do.

I've also been keeping my eye on what was going on in the other thread and can honestly say that after reading all he had to say, I've wasted time I could have better spent in the workshop!

This guy has no respect for the work either of you have done to encourage and assist anyone involved in woodworking, with your DVDs and magazines respectively. Constructive criticism is acceptable but, quite frankly, there wasn't any! By writing off the magazine in the way that he did, whether he was aware of it or not, he setup himself for a****-kicking from the many members here who subscribe and contribute to Nick's latest (and possibly greatest  ) effort! :D

I'm sure you guys will just take this on the chin and carry on doing what you do best - there didn't appear to be anything else to take from it! :)

You can't please everyone, all the time, but people like him just aren't worth acknowledging.

As something of a forum newbie I can only say that it looks like you are both doing a good job.

As far as the magazine goes - I'm a fan, so keep at it,,,
