I'd suggest that you don't use the UKW name. In the event of any new members as a reuslt of the stand, the first thread they read will probably be this one given the name of it. All they'll see is a group of kids who feel that it's appropriate to indulge in name calling.

Oh well, I guess this thread will only deteriorate until it gets locked.

OK chaps...executive decision taken, not that I take many of them in my house. I'll pen something to Ian asap to include wording mentioning UKWorkshop. I'll have a trawl back through the thread for some ideas.
Should be entertaining  - Rob

Rob - entering this rather late but as someone who has volunteered to attend I cannot see what is wrong with using something like "UKW Forum Members" - because after all that's what we are!
As some members seem to be concerned (for what ever reason?), I would suggest not using the words "Workshop.co.uk"

Rod I don't think any of is were concerned in this thread, only going on what we was previously told by a Moderator.

Well done Rob. Can't wait, it look fantastic.

If you need a hand with Artwork, I think I still have the original files that Charley gave me for the bashes. If not I can easily re-create it if you want some stuff printed. LMK

I was thinking about doing an A4 sized UKWorkshop thingie and then laminating it at work, then slotting it into a wooden holder so it could be stood up on the bench at the event.
Any other ideas...something on the wall behind, display board maybe :duno: - Rob

Anything is possible. But we don't have any funds avaiable, so we can't get anything proffesionally printed, which is a shame.

If you or anyone else has a color printer (I don't), then I can supply an A4 sized mini-poster? and as you say, it can be laminated. Maybe a couple.

If you want to get people signing up, then you might want to print up some strips of paper that you can give out the web address.

Well done Rob, looks like it is all coming together nicely.

I have a large colour photocopier/printer at work, if you need any copies just let me know.

I would favour an A4 size handout with the web details on, perhaps showing a collage of some pictures from past events, bashes, competition winners etc.

A little bit about the friendly and helpful resource the forum represents. I am sure there are enough computer wizz kids amongst members to come up with something.

There is no need to go to mad and create a lot of work, but at the same time it would be good to look the part.

Just a thought.

Tony.

I like the idea Tony, but I think A4 is too big. Leaflet size would be better.

As I say, I'm happy to do this, but if someone more qualified would like to volunteer, that's dandy with me.

I am hoping to bring a large poster if there is a display board or suitable wall.
Excellent...I'm sure there will be somewhere to display a poster - Rob

A large poster of what?

Tom,

The project that got me back into wooodworking is the construction of possibly the largest reproduction 10thC anglo-saxon meadhalls in Europe. I am trying to put a photo display of the timber frame construction and woodworking aspects and particularly some of the carving.
