Why is it that there are no suppliers of table saw fences, for 12" table saws, in Europe? I have a great Wadkin table saw, but have not been happy with the fence since I bought the saw many years ago. I've tried to tweak it but with no joy and so decided to buy a ne fence. Not that easy though is it? The Americans do loads of nice fences but the cost of getting one here is prohibitive. Rutlands do a nice Incra one but only for table saws with a length of up to 724mm, mine is over 800mm. I can't even find a decent second one on the internet (not surprising really as no one can sell theirs because they can't replace it).
Surely with all the woodworker in UK and continental Europe there is a market for these fences?

Hi Froggy
I have a problem. I have an answer to your problem, but I'm not allowed to tell you publicly :)
PM me if your interest is piqued, otherwise, happy hunting.

Hi froggy

If Steve can't help you, you may find it on my tool shop website. I think we probably supply the biggest range in Incra in Europe. Hope this helps.

Cheers Peter
Thanks Peter, but I have already looked at the Incra fences and they won't fit on my saw which has a mitre gauge slot length over 800mm, the Incra's will only fit on saws 724mm or smaller.

Don't know if it's still available but the fences on the earlier Felder 700 series would be easily convert to fit to many machines. It runs on a 10mm thick steel runner that is set away from the edge of the machine. Could take a picture if it might help.

Edit. Realised it's the fence used on the combi not the separates that might work. So thats the Felder 731 pro

Would this one fit,

INCRA - TS-LS Table Saw Fence 52in (1230mm) - XL (Metric)

Cheers Peter

Unfortunately not Peter. It's not the length that matters, but the width.

This is from your site on this fence:

'Will the INCRA TS-LS fit on my table saw?

The INCRA TS-LS will fit directly on just about any standard 10" table saw, typically without any drilling or tapping. There are only two things you need to check to make sure that it will fit your saw:

1. The length of miter gauge slot (front-to-back distance of table). If this measurement is 28-1/2” or less (standard for most 10" table saws), the standard INCRA TS-LS will will fit your saw.'

i am surprised that there isn't at least one off the shelf solution available in the uk.

there are some very good beismeir type plans and WIP around if you look, but they all involve an element of fabrication. The verysupercooltools one is the best that I have seen, although they are all variations on a theme.

Maybe I am misunderstanding you but I can't send you a link, this is from my website.

If this measurement is between 28-1/2” and 33”, the TS-LS System can be ordered with a longer fence extrusion and base support panel for a nominal charge as a substitution for the standard-length components.

33" is 838mm feel free to PM me or email us at the tool shop if this is any good for you.

Cheers Peter

Hi Peter, My apologies - as you can see from my last post, I stopped ready at the point where I thought the fence wasn't long enough!! I'll check my table length tomorrow and get back to you. I am also waiting for Steve to get back to me. Thanks Peter.

Hi Steve,
Did you get my PM? You can't tease me with a solution and then not answer my PM!! Not fair.

Hi Froggy
:)
Not being a tease, I assure you, just busy with guests for the evening.

I can imagine why Steve feels he can't share publicly in the forum but I suspect you will be able to relay it to the rest of us to satisfy collective curiosity.

There are loads of web articles and you tube videos of biesemeyer fence clones. Some can be bolted together for alignment and then welded (by a friend etc)

Hi Bob,
You would be right has why Steve can't go public. But if you were to buy his WE10 DVD (I can say that can't I?) you would realise there is no welding involved, just drilling and tapping (which may also require a friend)!  By the way when are you next in France Bob?

Peter, I'm afraid the Incra, even with adjustments, will be no good for my Wadkin as it measures 34.5" or 875mm and the maximum size for the Incra fence is 33.5". I have decided to have a go making one!! Thank you for your help anyway.

No problem, it will be interesting to see what you make.
