Sorry but I disagree. It was all working before so there is nothing (or nothing likely to be wrong with the original wiring). He has almost certainly just crimped the insulation of the neutral in the connection block so that the actual copper wire is floating in mid-air. It's what at least three of us suggested at around post no.3 in the thread !
 
I agree. The post has gone off topic. The issue as stated by replies to my post was a poor neutral connection in one of the 5 amp junction boxes. The wiring circuit was fine and I have not touched that. I have just removed the low voltage lights and transformers and replaced them with straight 240V LED lights. I also added a couple of extra lights to the existing circuit by running a couple of spurs of the existing ring.

Oh no. Is someone going to tell me I needed to be accredited to have changed just a bulb let alone change the lamps.

It's all working fine, in fact better than before :)
